They make other neutral shades as well, such as Bare Ochre, which is more suited towards lighter skin types. And Painterly just happens to be one of my favorites All of the colors are excellent! Forgets other primers this should be your go-to. I have never found a product comparable to MAC's Paint Pots. The eye shadows go on more vibrantly You can see the colors more than if you applied them directly to the lid. I apply this to my eyelid, put some powder over it to set it, then apply my eyeshadow and eyeliner. It also lasts a really long time I get a new pot every few months. I have very oily eye lids, and when I say that the eye shadow doesn't go ANYWHERE, I mean it! Say good bye to creases and fading colors. Painterly is a neutral cream that I use as an eyeshadow primer. I think I have gone through at least 5 pots of MAC's Paint Pots in Painterly this year. When I wash off my makeup in the evening, it is sometimes the only thing besides my mascara that is still on. It doesn't crease at all and lasts all day long. I have tried many other eye primers, and they just don't have the coverage that the paint pot has. This stuff is talked about so much for a reason. I usually use a concealer brush to apply it and then I set it with Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder.
I like to add Rosehip Seed Oil so that my lids get a little extra hydration, and it also helps the paint pot to be a little more spreadable. It is the one thing that really brightens up my appearance and makes me look alive.
The paint pot is amazing for covering up the imperfections and prepping my lids for eye shadow, but most days I just wear it on it's own. I have very fair skin, and unfortunately my eyelids are super purple and my veins stick out pretty obviously. Overall the price was kind of worth it, however I am currently trying to find a dupe for this so my wallet won’t have to suffer as much due to my beauty addiction.I use this for my eyelids everyday. I applied it on my oily eyelids and let me tell you! This product covers up eye veins like a dream! I instantly dubbed it Holy Grail worthy! I instantly know when I like a product or I dont, but this product I instantly feel in love with! I will definitely be buying more of these in different shade ranges! I also may need to buy more of this product soon because I have a feeling I may be running out in a few weeks… ? I first used my finger to apply to my eyelid because I felt that a brush would carry to much product. The packaging looked amazing (as all MAC packaging is) and I instantly feel in love with the way it looked! I am a huge sucker for packaging! MAC paint pot in soft ochre on the right and one of my eyeshadows from one of my MAC palletes (eyeshadow-Rubenesque) sorry xx In 5 buisness days it was here and I could not wait to get my hands on it! The packaging with soft ochre on the outside I ordered it along with a few other MAC products which will be reviewed later :). The second raved MAC paint pot was Soft Ochre, I instantly loved the way it looked when it was swatched and thought it was the best for my skin color. First I had my heart set on Painterly, but as I saw the swatches on blogs, I determined it wasn’t best suited for my skin type which is fair. I read reviews on Painterly and I saw how people raved about it, so I decided to get a MAC Paint Pot of my own.
